The building is
located on the northwest side of the 40-58 Building.
SUMMARY
Based on GeoEngineers' observations, it is our opinion that the construction activities observed by
GeoEngineers, Inc. were completed in general accordance with our recommendations, and the project
plans and specifications. GeoEngineers' construction observation services consisted of evaluating footing
excavations to confirm design soil bearing pressures, and evaluation of the proposed slab subgrade
preparation. We visited the site on an intermittent basis between June 13, 2014 and September 16, 2014.
The exposed footing subgrade for the western footings was evaluated to consist of dense to very dense
silty sand (glacial till) suitable for the intended loading. The eastern footings were supported on structural
fill following construction of a below-grade tunnel. Structural backfill testing was completed by the testing
laboratory. Numerous utilities were constructed below the slab requiring pea-gravel backfill with an
overlying one-foot cap of sand and gravel. In-place density tests of the structural fill cap were also
completed by the testing laboratory.
We trust this letter meets your current needs and provides the necessary information for project
acceptance. Please call if you have any qstions regarding the contents of this letter.
G
Sincerely,
GeoEngineers, Inc.
 , ; _ lz .1
Debra C.
