This concerns work without permits, and permits without inspections over a period of eleven years,
including the current tenant, 'Always Something', a thrift shop.
Following is an outline of findings and observations about this tenant in the building:
1. The use is identified in both County tax and City permit records as commercial use.
2. In 2001, a permit was obtained for a new mezzanine, requiring a shear wall and other structural
revisions: B0104-041.
a. This permit expired due to lack of inspections requested.
3. In 2008, a permit was obtained for new accessible restrooms on the main floor: B0803-003. Work
without permits was completed between the plans submitted in 2001 and 2008, to include additional
floor area, new and modified stairs, and structural revisions. New work does not meet minimum code
standards.
a. This permit expired due to lack of inspections requested.
4. In 2012, a permit was submitted for a certificate of occupancy. Work without permits was completed
between the plans submitted in 2008 and 2012, to include a toilet room, shower, washer, dryer, walls,
doors and a loading dock bay with storage.
