Project: Community Transit — Seaway Transit Center
HWA Project Number: 2014-117-21
Description of Work & Restoration
•
We intend to drill two (2) geotechnical borings behind the sidewalk in the landscaped section of the City
of Everett Right of Way on the westbound side of 75`h St SW between 16th Ave W and Seaway Boulevard
in Everett, Washington. The purpose of the borings is to supplement existing geologic information for
the Seaway Transit Center improvements. It will take one working day of approximately 8 hours to
advance both explorations and restore the landscaped surface. The attached Site Plan (Figure 1) shows
the location of the explorations relative to existing infrastructure. Utility locations will be determined
using the One-Call Locate system.
Photo 1 shows the model of limited access track mounted drill rig that we int:end to use to advance our
explorations. A support truck accompanies the rig to the site as well. Each truck is approximately 20-40'
long. The work zone in total will need to be between 100' long to accommodate the truck, drill rig, and
space between the borings.
Photo 1
Each boring will be approximately 6 inches in diameter and will be advanced to a depth of 20 feet below
ground surface. Both boreholes will be abandoned at the conclusion of the exploration by backfilling the
shaft with bentonite chips to within 2 feet of the surface, then restored with fill to the top of the
landscaped section.
