CITY OF EVERETT <br />Certificate of Appropriateness <br />For Proposed Deck Addition to McCabe Building <br />WHEREAS, the EMC 296.060C(3) requires the Historical Commission to review <br />proposed alterations to buildings on the Everett Register of Historic Places (Everett <br />Register) according to the criteria of the Washington State Advisory Council's Standards <br />for Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Historic Properties; and <br />WHEREAS, the EMC 2.96.060C(3) states that the decision concerning the granting or <br />denial of a certificate of appropriateness shall be made by the mayor (or designee) on the <br />advice of the Historical Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor has designated the Building Official as his designee to grant or <br />deny a certificate of appropriateness on the advice of the Historical Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, the McCabe Building at 3120 Hewitt Avenue is on the Everett Register; and <br />WHEREAS, Larry Scheurer of Desig7i Systems submitted a request on behalf of David <br />Kim, owner, for review of a proposed addition of a deck to the McCabe Building; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed work is described in a drawing on file in the Department of <br />Planning and Community Development; and <br />WHEREAS, the Historical Commission reviewed the proposed deck at their meeting on <br />June 14, 2006, and concluded that the proposed work ineets the Washington State <br />Advisory Council's Standards for Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Historic Properties. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Building Official approves a Certificate of Appropriateness for <br />construction of a deck on the McCabe Building as proposed in the drawing on file in the <br />Department of Planning and Community Development. <br />Dated this 21 st day of June, 2006 <br />��� ��.� <br />Kirk�Brooks, Building Official <br />�v <br />
