RESOLUTION NO. 5898 <br /> A RESOLUTION waiving public bidding requirements and approving a sole source purchase of Neptune <br /> Water Meters and Parts from Ferguson Waterworks. <br /> WHEREAS, the Public Works Department requires an annual supply of water meters and parts; and <br /> WHEREAS,Neptune Technology Group produces the only water meters that match existing equipment, and <br /> are compatible with the units which have been installed since 1997; and <br /> WHEREAS,Neptune Water Meters use a proprietary radio technology that is not compatible with meters <br /> from other manufacturers; and <br /> WHEREAS, Neptune Water Meters have the same spare parts inventory, and maintenance protocols as the <br /> existing equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ferguson Waterworks is the sole distributor of Neptune Water Meters in Washington State; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT that <br /> because there is clearly and legitimately only one source capable of supplying water meters and parts that <br /> meet the City's needs and are compatible with existing equipment,the City hereby waives competitive <br /> bidding requirements and authorizes the purchase of Neptune Water Meters and parts from Ferguson <br /> Waterworks. <br /> Jr1/1frY <br /> Councilperso I roducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 9th day of May , 2007. <br /> 1114 cil Pre t <br />
