• <br /> RESOLUTION No. 5834 <br /> A Resolution declaring that the sale of certain real estate <br /> parcels located along the Snohomish River between Rotary <br /> Park and Pacific Avenue (generally known as the Everett <br /> Riverfront properties including the Landfill site, and portions <br /> of the former Simpson mill site, former Eclipse mill site, <br /> certain former rail R.O.W. parcels and certain waterfront <br /> parcels) is in the best interest of the City. <br /> Whereas, the Everett City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the City to sell the <br /> real property legally described and depicted in Exhibits A and B for the purpose of <br /> developing land in an area locally known as the Everett Riverfront; and <br /> Whereas, the goals of development on the Riverfront include the transformation of that <br /> former industrial area into a desirable place to live and recreate, retain and optimize <br /> access to the shoreline and provision of open spaces for use by the general public, <br /> creation of a district that provides recreation, residences,jobs, and goods and services; <br /> and <br /> Whereas, the City, after adequate environmental and public review under the State <br /> Environmental Policy Act, has adopted goals and policies in its Comprehensive Plan and <br /> Shoreline Master Program; and <br /> Whereas, these goals and policies include, but are not limited to, restrictions on use and <br /> redevelopment as well as policies that provide for"high quality mixed use development <br /> including multiple family residential, office park, light commercial,""buffers and <br /> rehabilitation of ecological functions," and"extension of existing trail system and <br /> connection to other public access improvements and park amenities"to provide"high <br /> quality public access on the site"; and <br /> Whereas, the City is not authorizing any development of the Everett Riverfront <br /> properties in this Resolution; and <br /> Whereas, the Everett City Council finds that the City is acting in compliance with the <br /> City Charter and Ordinance No. 2935-06. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved by the City Council of the City of <br /> Everett: <br /> 1 <br />
