Hi Eric, E2 was dispatched today to 2415 7th St for an electrical fire. We found a home that is in a chronic rehab state and is infested with rats. The rodents have chewed through several electrical wires, one of which originated our 911 response. The ho�r�e owi�er, Mrs. Patly M�nr�ir��, sCales her horne is �i� insurai�ce claim (or water �iaina�c I�owever there is a lol more going on in terms of repairs/demolition than just water damage. It seems she has been living like this for 2 years. We found todays problem to be a short in the wiring to the dishwasher she never uses (it had cobwebs inside it & dishes.) Rats chewed through the wiring. We turned off power to the home at the panel and advised her to get an electrician. The electrical panel is not labeled properly and the wiring is not remotely up to code. My concern is she will turn on the power without consulting an electrician resulting in a fire. Who knows where else the rats have or will chew through wiring in the walls or elsewhere in the home. Questions/concerns...give me a call. Thanks, Barry
