Ellis Court Condominium
1507 52d Street SE, Everett WA 98203
William Peters
Secretary, Board of Trustees
for the Condominium HOA
30th August 2016
City of Everett Public Works
Permit Services
3200 Cedar Street
Everett, WA 98201
RE: Permit #PW1510-036
425-248-3507
wpeters7321(ccomcast. net
In regard to your letter of 26t" August, 2016, please see the attached
photocopy of an email from Barbara Hardman of your department, dated
20th October, 2015, which states that NO PERMIT IS NECESSARY.
To try to set the record straight, this is what happened in October of last
year—
In order to determine if a permit was required, an application for a permit
had to be submitted. Once submitted, Barbara Hardman reviewed the facts
and determined that a permit was not necessary. All was well until—
The imp of office miscommunication gleefully cartwheeled in. After Barbara
had notified me of her decision, the application was misplaced or re-routed
or somehow ended up in the hands of an eager employee, who processed
the now-defunct application, anyway, with the peculiar result of your office
issuing a permit that your office said was not required.
So I'm not quite sure how to deal with your letter notifying the Condo of the
expiration of an unnecessary permit. I can say that Ellis Court intends to
proceed, eventually, with the planting of shrubs for a hedge, and we will be
doing so with the assurance of Barbara Hardman's original decision.
