We
appreciate your efforts to insure compliance with city guidelines and requirements.
Regarding Ellis Court's inquiry about installing a hedge along the sidewalk at the corner of 52nd St SE and
Rucker Ave., no permit is necessary for Ellis Court to install a hedge. But please be advised that there is a
water main that runs through that right of way. Please provide The Public Works Permit department
information about the kind of hedge material planned to insure that it's compatible with the water line. For
your information an aerial depiction is attached which shows the approximate location of the waterline but as
always it is necessary to call (425) 954-8436 before you dig to have the water line marked.
Additionally, the city Planning code limits hedges heights within 15 feet of the corner to 36 inches and the
Traffic Departments requires that it to be kept trimmed back so as not to overlap the sidewalk and obstruct
traffic visibility.
At your request I searched the city "Address Files" under both 1501 & 1507 52nd St. SE, and found no Special
provisions with regard the current landscaping and sprinklers. You may wish to check your Condominium
Declarations for references to landscaping.
Throughout the city the maintenance of any landscaping in the right of way is the responsibility of the
property owner.
Please be advised that any landscaping installed in the right of way is done so at the owners risk and
expense. In the event that it becomes necessary for the city to utilize the right of way for public purposes,
any landscaping may be required to be removed at the owners' expense. At this time there are no
foreseeable plans for changes to the right of way abutting your property.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions.
Thanks again,
 jY . a '}y +r ` d,
.r.Y7'1' . .+._ ^,4,' .r- „'''S i` _ ..,a"-i_""-n __.
. rn IQZZIS J.JJ P.
