The number of shrubs has been calculated using the total area depicted on the grading plan and
noted within the Permit Conditions. The total number of plants will be distributed throughout the
impact area as appropriate. If necessary, actual locations of each plant may be determined during a site
meeting with the applicant, contracted landscaper and consulting biologist. All bare earth within the
planting area will be seeded with the seed mix listed below.
Shrubs
Common Name Latin Name Size Spacing_ Quanti
Red elderberry S'amhamsma-mosa 1 gallon 5' 70
Salmonberry Ruhussf>eelahilis 1 gallon 5' 70
Snowberry Syrzzf>honiazposalhus 1 gallon 5' 70
Nootka rose Rosanulkazza 1 gallon 5' 70
Ocean spray Holodisczzs dz'rcolor 1 gallon 5' 70
SeedMiz
Common Name Latin Name lbs/1,000 sX
Tall fescue Fesluea arundinacea 0.4
Colonial bentgrass flgzoslir leuuir 0.4
Annual ryegrass Lolizzzz, mzzll drum 0.5
White clover Tzfobwn zepens 0.2
Planting Notes
Timing: Plants should be installed before March first. Order plants from a reputable nursery. Care
and handling of plant materials is extremely important to the overall success of the project. All plant
materials recommended in this plan should be available from local and regional sources, depending on
seasonal demand. Some limited species substitution may be allowed, only with the agreement of the
consulting wetland professional.
Plant Distribution: The plants shall be arranged in a pattern with the appropriate numbers, sizes
species, and distribution to achieve the desired vegetation coverage. The actual placement of individual
plants shall mimic natural, asymmetric vegetation patterns found on similar undisturbed sites in the area.
Spacing of the plantings may be adjusted to maintain existing vegetation with approval from the
consulting wetland professional. In the wetland creation area, plant trees and shrubs that have a lower
tolerance for water in areas of slightly higher elevation.
Mulch: Wood chips shall be used for mulching in the areas planted to trees and shrubs. All existing
vegetation is to be removed from a two -foot diameter area at each planting site. Wood chips are to be
placed in this two -foot diameter area at a depth of three to four inches, and not within 2" of the plant
stem.
Compacted topsoil
water thoroughly
fertilize as req'd
SHRUB PLANTING DETAIL
No Scale
Prune diseased and
broken branches
Water basin with
3-411 of mulch
Planting hole min.
twice size of root ball
0Y d
LL 0 0
Z U
U
Q o 1
Z U z _
Z 0 ^
co Q
z LLJ 3
_o aw
w
2
O Y
(j W
w =
SHEET 1
