LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> REGARDING <br /> CIVIL SERVICE LISTS <br /> This Letter, as approved by the Everett City Council and Everett Firefighters, Local 46, shall <br /> take precedence over any inconsistent provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, City <br /> ordinances, and/or Civil Service rules. <br /> 1. The Union agrees to support the City before the Civil Service Commission whenever the <br /> City determines that is necessary to post a Call for Applicants for any Civil Service <br /> classified position above Entry Level Firefighter. <br /> 2. The City agrees that, upon the request of the Union, the City will approach the Civil <br /> Service Commission and request a Call for Applicants for any Civil Service classified <br /> position above Entry Level Firefighter. <br /> 3. Applicants must meet the provisions. of Article 23 — Line of Progression, for time in <br /> service requirements to take promotional examinations, provided that time in service <br /> requirements different than in Article 23 may be utilized by mutual agreement between <br /> the City and Union. <br /> 4. A supplemental certified list resulting from the above process will then be tacked onto <br /> any valid, existing list for the position (the "host" list). <br /> 5.
