LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING REGARDING CIVIL SERVICE LISTS This Letter, as approved by the Everett City Council and Everett Firefighters, Local 46, shall take precedence over any inconsistent provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, City ordinances, and/or Civil Service rules. 1. The Union agrees to support the City before the Civil Service Commission whenever the City determines that is necessary to post a Call for Applicants for any Civil Service classified position above Entry Level Firefighter. 2. The City agrees that, upon the request of the Union, the City will approach the Civil Service Commission and request a Call for Applicants for any Civil Service classified position above Entry Level Firefighter. 3. Applicants must meet the provisions. of Article 23 — Line of Progression, for time in service requirements to take promotional examinations, provided that time in service requirements different than in Article 23 may be utilized by mutual agreement between the City and Union. 4. A supplemental certified list resulting from the above process will then be tacked onto any valid, existing list for the position (the "host" list). 5. All supplemental lists for a Civil Service classified position shall expire on the same date as the host list without regard to the certification date of the supplemental list.
