This goal is accomplished through a voluntary work crew program that provides litter pick-up, referrals to treatment and other services,motivational programming, and other soft skills related to entry into the employment market. This program allows the Prosecutor's Office to refer appropriate misdemeanor cases for diversion programs,holding offenders accountable while freeing up resources for cases better suited for traditional prosecution. This program will be funded by the City at the cost of$110,000.00 through 2017. Participation in diversion programs is at the discretion of the City Attorney. RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign the Professional Services Agreement with HopeWorks Social Enterprises for supervision of diversion programs in an amount not to exceed$110,000.00. 55
