Apprenticeship programs are effective but underutilized in our <br />area. It is important to our economy and the economic future of the region to have a skilled workforce which <br />can be provided through apprenticeship programs. This Resolution will require apprenticeship participation <br />on the tenant improvements of the Public Space Building adjacent to the Regional Special Events Center and <br />on certain other City of Everett contracts, along with authorizing the Mayor to form a study group to discuss <br />the use of apprenticeship participation. <br />RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Adopt the Resolution promoting the use of <br />apprentices in public works projects. <br />
