He said the purpose of the hearing was to: • Provide factual information about the proposed project or action to the general public and to the Historical Commission. • Provide a fair, open and orderly forum for pubic comment and questions. • Identify issues to be considered as part of the decision. Staff Report Dave Koenig reviewed the criteria for placement on the Everett Register of Historic Places: The property must be at least 50 years old; significant to Everett history, architecture, or cultural history; and retain significant historic character to reflect the history of the community. It must also fall into at least one of the following categories: • Associated with events that have made a significant contribution to the broad patterns of national, state or local history. • Embody the distinctive architectural characteristics of a type, period, style or method of design or construction_ • Be an outstanding work of a designer, builder or architect. • Exemplify or reflect elements of the city's cultural, social, economic, political, aesthetic, engineering or architectural history. • Be associated with the lives of person significant to national, state or local history. i t�
