He said the <br /> purpose of the hearing was to: <br /> • Provide factual information about the proposed project or action to the general <br /> public and to the Historical Commission. <br /> • Provide a fair, open and orderly forum for pubic comment and questions. <br /> • Identify issues to be considered as part of the decision. <br /> Staff Report <br /> Dave Koenig reviewed the criteria for placement on the Everett Register of Historic <br /> Places: <br /> The property must be at least 50 years old; significant to Everett history, architecture, or <br /> cultural history; and retain significant historic character to reflect the history of the <br /> community. It must also fall into at least one of the following categories: <br /> • Associated with events that have made a significant contribution to the broad <br /> patterns of national, state or local history. <br /> • Embody the distinctive architectural characteristics of a type, period, style or <br /> method of design or construction_ <br /> • Be an outstanding work of a designer, builder or architect. <br /> • Exemplify or reflect elements of the city's cultural, social, economic, political, <br /> aesthetic, engineering or architectural history. <br /> • Be associated with the lives of person significant to national, state or local history. <br /> i t� <br />
