Exhibit A <br /> • A l <br /> Scope of Work - Phase 1 <br /> Evergreen Way Pump Station Upgrades <br /> Introduction <br /> This Scope of Work describes professional engineering services to be provided under <br /> the Agreement between the City of Everett (City) and R. W. Beck, Inc. (Engineer) for <br /> City of Everett Project No. UT-3138, Evergreen Way Pump Station (EWPS) <br /> Upgrades. The City and Alderwood Water and Wastewater District (AWWD) share <br /> the project site and have agreed to share costs associated with engineering services and <br /> potential joint facilities upgrades associated with this project. The City, AWWD and <br /> the Engineer will work cooperatively throughout the duration of the project to <br /> optimize value provided to both agencies. Services to be covered under this Scope of <br /> Work include: <br /> • Phase 1 —Upgrade Alternatives Study <br /> Phase 1 — Upgrade Alternatives Study <br /> Task 1 Scoping Workshop and Project Setup (AWWD and City) <br /> Scope <br /> The scoping workshop will identify issues to be addressed under Phase 1 and <br /> strategies to be taken with each issue. AWWD and City representatives will provide <br /> input and clarify objectives. The Engineer will facilitate the scoping workshop and <br /> provide interagency coordination. <br /> Deliverables <br /> Draft and final scope of work for Phase 1, project work plan, schedule of deliverables, <br /> and project work breakdown structure. <br /> Meetings <br /> One workshop <br /> Task 2 Needs Assessment <br /> The objective of Task 2 is to identify and evaluate a series of alternatives to address <br /> project issues. In addition to technical, cost, operations and permit considerations <br /> several of these alternatives will have associated policy implications that may affect <br /> the City and AWWA either jointly or individually. The intent is to use the Needs <br /> Assessment as a tool to help facilitate decisions, for further development of the <br /> implementation plan to be addressed under Task 3. <br /> 5 <br /> Phase I Scope(2/28/03) <br />
