This restoration project will enhance salmon habitat in the Snohomish Estuary consistent with the recommendations in the Snohomish Estuary Wetland Integration Plan (SEWIP) and salmon recovery plans developed in the Snohomish Basin (WRIA 7). The project will also mitigate for city-proposed dike improvements along the Snohomish River and Union Slough and provide wetland mitigation credits for potential future WPCF expansions. The Corps of Engineers will fund approximately 50% of the project costs. Construction will begin in July 2003 and be completed in September 2005. The Certificate of Lands and Authorization for Entry Agreement would allow the Corps of Engineers the right to enter upon the subject property RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to execute the Certificate of Lands and Authorization for Entry Agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers
