This restoration project will enhance salmon habitat in the Snohomish <br /> Estuary consistent with the recommendations in the Snohomish Estuary Wetland Integration Plan (SEWIP) <br /> and salmon recovery plans developed in the Snohomish Basin (WRIA 7). The project will also mitigate for <br /> city-proposed dike improvements along the Snohomish River and Union Slough and provide wetland <br /> mitigation credits for potential future WPCF expansions. The Corps of Engineers will fund approximately <br /> 50% of the project costs. Construction will begin in July 2003 and be completed in September 2005. <br /> The Certificate of Lands and Authorization for Entry Agreement would allow the Corps of Engineers the <br /> right to enter upon the subject property <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to execute the Certificate of Lands and Authorization for Entry Agreement <br /> with the Army Corps of Engineers <br />
