January 4, 2017 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m., January 4, 2017, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. <br /> Moore Historic City Hall, Council President Murphy presiding. Upon roll <br /> call, it was found that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, <br /> Moore, Murphy, Bader, Franklin, Stonecipher, and Tuohy were present. <br /> Council Member Moore led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the December 28, 2016, City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. Council Member Franklin abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson commented on today's passing of former Council <br /> Member Bob Overstreet. He offered condolences to the family and noted <br /> Mr. Overstreet served some 30 years on the Everett City Council. <br /> The Mayor also spoke about recent water main breaks caused by the cold <br /> weather. He thanked the public works staff for doing a remarkable job on <br /> the call outs to restore service. <br /> APPOINTMENTS/REAPPOINTMENTS <br /> Moved by Council Member Franklin, seconded by Council Member <br /> Tuohy, to concur with the following appointments: <br /> Board of Park Commissioners <br /> Appointment of Carla Krona to Position 7 for the reminder of a six- <br /> year term ending December 31, 2018. <br /> Appointment of Michael Yates to Position 5 for a six-year term <br /> ending December 31, 2022. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 1 <br />
