Campus Redevelopment Initiative <br /> Snohomish County <br /> CRI UPDATE FOR CITY COUNCIL <br /> Wednesday, July 30, 2003 <br /> Last update for City Council was September 25, 2002 -just as we started demolition. <br /> County Records Building(Glacier site-$5.7M) <br /> • Structure nearly complete. Space enclosed and completing finishes and build-out <br /> • Expect occupancy in early Fall <br /> Parking Garage($29M) <br /> • Now coming up from the bottom after extensive contamination and water problems <br /> • Entire pit is now covered with concrete and using permanent drainage system <br /> • Pouring 5th level this week with 5 more to go including Plaza deck <br /> • Anticipate opening for parking in late February. Plaza will complete later. <br /> Jail Expansion ($86.5M) <br /> • Main structure is out of the ground and nearing 3rd level <br /> • Soon will start utility section(single story north of main building) <br /> • Digging inmate transfer tunnel in Oakes Street <br /> Courthouse Renovation ($5.7M) <br /> • Design completed <br /> • Work will be done in steps so no displacement occurs <br /> • Renovation to start in early 2004 and take more than two years because work is sequen- <br /> tial <br /> Administration Building($37.4) <br /> • Development Agreement with City stipulates that design will be...: <br /> o "...consistent with and would implement goals and policies of the 1984 Everett <br /> Comprehensive Plan" <br /> o "...compatible with City of Everett Design Guidelines..." <br /> o "...compatible with the surrounding neighborhoods and downtown core" <br /> o " ...developed within an architectural language consistent and compatible with <br /> other new and existing campus buildings" <br /> o " ...all elements [of CRI] are to be completed at approximately the same time" <br /> o And a number of more specific elements of guidance and agreement. <br /> • Design is at 50%point of Construction Drawings (CDs) <br /> • Mortenson is finalizing MACC proposal (price, schedule, scope definitions) <br /> • Floor plans are nearly firm <br /> • Schedule: <br /> o Demolition of South Garage would start at beginning of October <br /> o Pre-demolition work needed <br /> o Admin Building construction would start in mid-November. <br /> o Admin Building complete in February 2005 <br /> • External views of building <br />
