The students typically are in the training for 9 to 11 months and
are assigned at the discretion of the program director. They typically work 60 to 70 hours per week on an
average and must be available when requested by the director. Due to the rigorous training required, the
hardships on the students and their families and the constant and increasing traffic gridlock to and from
Seattle, we have found maintaining an apartment in Seattle to be the most reasonable option.
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the Mayor to sign the apartment rental agreement between the City of Everett and Cobblestone
Court Apartments for housing Everett Fire Department paramedic students while training at Harborview
Medical Center.
 3
