ellidm ma"— <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5746 <br /> A RESOLUTION supporting a Library Services and Technology Act <br /> Connecting Libraries to Learners Initiative grant application for the <br /> funds to purchase children's books in the Spanish and Russian <br /> languages for the collection of the Everett Public Library. <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Public Library has a continuing interest in supporting <br /> education; and <br /> WHEREAS, these materials will be used by children to support their school work <br /> before they gain fluency in English; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Everett to continue to provide <br /> appropriate library materials for the benefit of its citizens; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Everett that <br /> the City of Everett lends its full support and endorsement to the Library's <br /> application for grant funds under the Library Services and Technology Act <br /> (LSTA) Connecting Libraries to Learners Initiative 2006, and the Mayor is <br /> authorized to execute all applications and grant contracts related thereto, and the <br /> execution of the grant itself, if, as, and when awarded. <br /> Councilperson Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 22 day of March , 2006. <br /> • <br /> Coit it Pres'•- t <br />
