5 ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> CITY OF EVERETT CSO FACILIT Y PLANNING <br /> AND PRE-DESIGN <br /> AMENDMENT NO. 1 -HAYES STREET <br /> CSO REGULATOR EVALUATION <br /> SERIES 600 TASKS—ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> Task Understanding: The City of Everett currently experiences approximately 4 to 5 <br /> combined sewer overflow events per year at the Hayes Street Regulator. To reduce the <br /> frequency of these overflows the City has considered raising the weir elevation of this <br /> structure to increase the flow rate in the conveyance system to the Siphon Headworks and <br /> subsequently the wastewater treatment plant. However,it is important to verify that <br /> increasing the flows to the Siphon Headworks will not result in an increase in combined <br /> sewer overflows to greater than one event per year from the overflow weir in the Siphon <br /> Headworks. <br /> Task 601 —Project Management <br /> Contractor Responsibilities: <br /> 1. Amend the Existing CSO Contract to include tasks for the Hayes Street CSO weir <br /> Evaluation. <br /> 2. Status reports will be incorporated into the CSO Planning and Predesign monthly <br /> report. <br /> Assumptions: <br /> 1. Labor and costs associated with the Hayes Street.Evaluation will be tracked as a <br /> separate task from the other CSO Planning and Predesign tasks. <br /> City Responsibilities: <br /> 1. None. <br /> Work Products: <br /> 1. Monthly task status report. <br /> Task 602—Existing System Evaluation <br /> Contractor Responsibilities: <br /> 1. Review the existing sewer system mapping of the conveyance system <br /> configuration in the vicinity of Hayes Street and East Marine View Drive. <br /> 2.
