ATTACHMENT 1
5 SCOPE OF WORK
Assumptions:
1. Attend one meeting with the City to review the results of the modeling analysis.
Work Products:
1. Flow versus rainfall model for the inverted siphons.
2. Long term flow projection (30 year)for the siphon based on records of historical
City rainfall.
3. Hydraulic analysis of the Hayes Street Regulator to the Siphon Inlet Structure.
4. Determination of the available head in Siphon Inlet Structure for increasing flows
to the wastewater treatment plant.
5. Determination of the increase in the weir height required to reduce the overflows
at the Hayes Street Regulator to less than one event per year.
Task 604—Conceptual Design
Contractor Responsibilities:
1. Develop a design concept for increasing the weir height of the Hayes Street
Regulator to reduce overflows to less than one event per year.
2. Develop a design concept for converting the one manhole structure between
Hayes Street and the Siphon Inlet Structure to a pressure structure assuming that
the hydraulic grade line in this piping will be increased by raising the Hayes
Street Overflow weir height.
City Responsibilities:
1. Attend a meeting to develop design concepts. The City project manager shall
invite relevant City personnel.
Assumptions:
1. The weir at the Hayes Street Regulator can be raised without increasing the
frequency of overflows at the Siphon Inlet Structure.
2. One meeting with the City to develop design concepts for improvements to the
system.
Work Products:
1. Design concepts of new structures for the Hayes Street system.
Task 605—Reports
Contractor Responsibilities:
1. Prepare a technical memorandum documenting the results of the modeling effort,
the conclusions reached and a description of design concepts.
City Responsibilities:
1. Review the draft technical memorandum and provide comments back to the
Contractor.
