The annual cost of the program will be$17,500 per year for a total
of$35,000 during the two-year agreement. The museum will be responsible to provide staff support to
develop and implement an enhanced version of the current joint ET/Children's Museum Transit Education
Field Trip demonstration program. The Agreement is for two years with an option for a third year.
The purpose of the program is to provide an interactive transportation education program that serves to build
awareness and educate elementary school-aged children, teachers and parent chaperones about the
community and personal benefits of using transportation alternatives in Everett and the region. The program
introduces children and supporting adults to Everett Transit and the Everett Station. With downtown parking
at a premium, the program also allows for greater attendance at the museum without creating additional
traffic congestion and parking issues.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the mayor to enter into an Agreement with the Imagine Children's
Museum regarding the Transportation Education Field Trip program.
Rlh/AU112404 Museum 9
