Council President fj11E lir Location Preceding Action Attachments Department(s)Approval Ordinance#2675-02 Amount Budgeted Expenditure Required Account Number(s): • Budget Remaining Additional Required DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: The 2004 water and filtration cost of service study has been completed and a rate adjustment of $0.60 per month for flat rate water customers is needed to align the water charge between flat rate and metered customers for similar consumption. A general water and filtration rate increase of ten percent in 2006, five percent in 2007,and five percent in 2008 for both wholesale and retail customers is needed to cover cost of operations and maintenance as well as fund needed capital projects. Utilities staff has been working closely with wholesale water customers regarding water system capital improvements and connection charge for all new system customers. Until such time as wholesale customers approve a connection charge agreement,Utilities recommends that a rate multiplier of 20%be added to wholesale master meter customers in lieu of a connection charge agreement.
