The Snohomish County Center for Battered Women("CBW") <br /> will hire the advocate.The advocate will reach out to non-English-speaking and immigrant women and assist with <br /> activities such as preparation of paperwork for protection orders,providing resource information, and participating in <br /> support groups.A Memorandum of Understanding between the City and CBW,which sets forth.the specific terms of <br /> the collaboration between CBW and the City, was submitted with the FY2003 DV grant application. The FY2003 DV <br /> grant award to the City includes $72, 100 total to pay for salary and benefits of this advocate during the 24-month <br /> grant period.Payments to CBW under this professional services agreement will be reimbursed to the City from the <br /> FY2003 DV grant monies. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign a Professional <br /> Services Agreement with the Snohomish County Center for Battered Women to use federal domestic violence grant <br /> monies for one dedicated full-time advocate for outreach and legal advocacy services to victims of domestic violence. <br /> 22 <br />
