, <br /> 5 <br /> Resolution No. <br /> A RESOLUTION Establishing Animal Shelter Intake Fees <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett owns and operates the only publicly owned Animal <br /> Shelter Facility in Snohomish County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City provides services such as housing, feeding watering, daily care, <br /> veterinary care, adoption, spaying and neutering, euthanasia and disposal of remains; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City is willing to accept animals from other government agencies in <br /> Snohomish County to the extent the City's Animal Shelter has the capacity and <br /> expertise to handle such animals; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City should be appropriately compensated for accepting animals from <br /> other government agencies in Snohomish County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City presently charges sixty dollars ($60) per animal; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City's costs of providing such services have increased since the fee was <br /> last established; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City desires to establish and charge an appropriate fee; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT that intake fees for acceptance of animals at the City's Animal Shelter Facility <br /> from other public agencies in Snohomish County be and hereby is established at Eighty- I <br /> five dollars ($85) per animal,which fee is to take effect on February 1, 2005, except for <br /> those contracts requiring notice, in which case the fee will take effect for such contracts <br /> as provided by the contracts. <br /> Councilmember Introducing Resolution <br /> Council President <br /> Passed and approved this day of 2004 <br /> I9 <br />
