Expenditure Required Account Number(s): PW2857 Budget Remaining Additional Required DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: The construction plans and specifications are complete and the project is ready to be advertised for construction bids. This project will construct pedestrian walkway improvements on the east side of Colby Avenue from 44th Street to 41st Street. The project includes the widening and construction of roughly 1,384 linear feet of sidewalk improvement, curb ramps, curb and gutter, landscaping, retaining wall, reconstruction of existing bus stop and street lights, and all other appurtenances necessary to complete the project. City Council previously authorized a call for bids for this project on October 6, 2004. However, subsequent changes to the specifications have prevented the original advertisement from being published on the date prescribed in the Council's previous authorization. We are,therefore, caused to seek Council's authorization to advertise the revised bid package. The funding sources for this contract are as follows: Federal Grant $52,164.00 CIP 3 25,963.00 Fund 301 —Arterial Streets 25,963.00 Total $104,090.00 RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the call for bids for the Interurban Trail Northern Extension, Stage II, Phase 2 project.
