Water Conservation Audit- Cocoon House
1I
Conclusion
If all the recommended water saving measures are undertaken, it is estimated that the
two Cocoon House sites would save over$1,300 per year on their water, wastewater,
and energy bills. Over 242 hundred cubic feet of water would also be saved. While, it is
estimated that the measures would have an installed cost of$5,270; this cost could be
paid back in approximately 2 years through reduced utility bills.
Estimated measures cost: $5,270
Estimated water savings (ccf): 514 ccf per year
Estimated water savings ($): $730 per year
Estimated wastewater savings ($): $1,608 per year
Estimated energy savings ($): $836 per year
Simple payback period: 2 years
The cost of the measures is a conservative estimate only. Less costly equipment and
shorter shower times could also reduce the payback period significantly, as well as
participation in the City of Everett and other utility rebate programs.
Please contact the City of Everett if you have any questions regarding this report. Thank
you for participating in our water conservation audit.
66
10/11/2004 Page 6
