3
Date: July 24, 2004
To: Norton Avenue Neighbors
From: Kevin and Marcia Bates (the red house)
RE: Block Party on September 11
The Block Party last summer was great fun. It was universally agreed to have another
one this year.
So...a petition from the Everett City Council is circulating the neighborhood. Please
print your name and address on the petition. The deadline for everybody's signature is
August 6.
Here are the particulars for the Block Party.... (so far)
Date: Saturday, September 11
Time: 9 am— 11 p.m.
Activities: Last year there were some games for the kids, games for the adults, a
potluck in the middle of the street, followed by Bingo. Let's get together
and figure out what to do this year.
Having the Block Party on September 11 is intentional. We will be united against the
forces of fear. United as neighbors,we will stand together, and break bread together. As
another one of our Presidents said over 50 years ago... "we have nothing to fear, but fear
itself."
So let's have a Block Party.
8
