<br /> NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
<br /> Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received by the City Clerk at the City Clerk's
<br /> Office, 1st Floor Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore, Everett, Washington 98201, until 2:00 p.m., on
<br /> Tuesday, October 26, 2004, for the construction of approximately 1,384 linear feet of sidewalk
<br /> improvement, including removal of existing street improvement, excavation, construction new
<br /> sidewalks, curb ramps, curb and gutter, landscaping, CMU block retaining wall, and reconstruction of
<br /> existing bus stop and street lights, described more completely in the specifications and contract
<br /> documents, entitled "City of Everett, Washington, Specifications for "Interurban Trail Northern
<br /> Extension, Stage II, Phase 2," and will then and there be opened and publicly read aloud. The
<br /> engineer's estimate for this project is$104,090.00.
<br /> Plans, specifications and plan holders list for this project may be viewed or ordered on-line from
<br /> Builder's Exchange at http://www.bxwa.com/public/everett.html. Builder's Exchange is located at

<br /> All proposals must be made upon the regular forms provided in the Proposal Section of the contract
<br /> documents and must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in an amount not less than 5% of
<br /> the successful bidder to guarantee faithful performance of the contract.
<br /> The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any irregularities or informalities. No
<br /> bidder may withdraw his bid after the hour set for the opening thereof. The City further reserves the
<br /> right to make the bid award as deemed in the best interest of the City.
<br /> The right is reserved by the City to postpone the award for a period of forty-five (45) days after bid
<br /> opening.
<br /> The Contractor will be required to comply with all local, State, and Federal laws and regulations
<br /> pertaining to equal employment opportunities.
<br /> The City of Everett in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252,42 U.S.C.
<br /> 2000d to 2000-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, subtitle A,
<br /> Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of
<br /> Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure
<br /> that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will
<br /> be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated
<br /> against on the grounds of race, color or national origin in consideration for an award.
