Whenever site
configuration allows, the valve control shall be an above-ground hand-wheel. lf only a below-ground
valve control is feasible, the valve shall still be hand-operable and the lid of the alve control box shall be
brighUy colored to allow for easy identification. Signs mdicating the lucation and purpose of the valve
shall be posted at the fueling islands and at the attendant's station.
mat rialt 1The paveme tsaround the vaul tlid shall be gndep,d or be msed t preent he run-on of azng
stormwater from adjacent areas.
Concrete-filled, steel pipc: posts (see City Standard No. 510) shall be constructed and located where
necessary to prevent vehicles enten g the fueling azea from striking the gasoline pumps.
/1 / /1 / i ,
Eilher spill containment or underground storage tank overfill prevention, as detailed in the following
Sections, shall be provided for areas where tanker tnnsport to underground storage tanks occur
4-5.213)(A) SPILL CONTAINMENT V -" '
'f'he`(ans.azea sh be gradedTo prevent the run-on of stormwater from adjacent areas.
Trench or vlley drains shall be la:ated at the perimeter of the tanker transfer azea along the downhill
side.
