r <br />Structural Design Associates <br />Engineering Structures to Last <br />November 1, 2007 <br />Robert Pierre <br />8016 Beverly Blod <br />Everett, WA 98203 <br />C"N-dsz <br />Subject: Framing revisions for the Pierre Residence located in Everett, WA. <br />SDA Ref. #4824 <br />To whom this may concern: <br />At the request of Robert Pierre our office was contacted to see if the lower floor <br />6x6 DF#2 and the 6x8 DF#1 posts below the bedroom 3 french doors could be <br />combined as a single steel post. <br />After analysis of the changes, it was determined that the two wood posts may be <br />replaced with an HSS4x4x'/a" steel column. The two 5 1/8" x 19 '/z" glulams per <br />plan are to be connected with a CCOS'/4 cap and welded to the steel column per <br />manufacturer specifications. The perpendicular 5 1/8" x 15" glulam is to be <br />centered on the post and hang off the interface of the two beams with an LEG5 <br />top flange hanger.
