To: File /A
From: Marian Dent 'I
Date: April 22, 1986
Subject: 8016 Beverly Blvd
The property was inspected today to determine the progress on the
demolition of the garage for which a demolition permit was issued on
March 27, 1996.
Mr. Pierre removed the roof of the garage three wicks ago and has not
done any further work.
For some reason, Mr. Pierre does not want to follow the stipulated
requirements of the City Codes, thereby making every project he
enters into, which requires code compliance, a real task for the
City Staff and constant continuous complaints from the neighbors.
Mr. Pierre has not complied with the Zoning Code or Building Code
as he was required to do in 1984. The Building Division Staff has
worked diligently with Mr. Pierre to guide him with compliance of
these Codes. His reluctance and manner of procedure has, at times,
created dangerous life threatening conditions due to inadequate
structural support and/or illegal electrical wiring procedures.
The structures standing on this property today may be considered
dangerous pursuant to the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous
Buildings, Sec. 302.5.:
Whenever ary portion or member or appurtenance thereof is
likely to fail, or to become detached or dislodged, or to
collapse and thereby injure persons or damage property.
Some of the structural deficiencies noted during previous inspections
are:
1. The roof of the house sags due to roof framing members being
cut out to install windows for skylights and not providing
support or bracing for the defective roof framing members.
2. Support beams have been cut in two for some reason and not
given adequate or code required bracing. As a result, the
ceiling joists are beginning to sag.
