DAVIDSON and INA <br />DAVIDSON, his wife; RAYMOND <br />GARDidER and NORMA GARDNER, <br />his wife; <br />Respondents. <br />N0. 1164-I <br />Division I, Panel 1 <br />FZLGD pFr, 41972 <br />HOROi9IT2, C.J. -- This appeal involves the validity of a <br />decision of the City of Everett Board of Adjustment in denying <br />petitioner the right to erect a 72-foot amateur radio tower on <br />his private property in an R-2 (residential) zone in Everett, <br />Washington. <br />� <br />Kenneth Carpenter, a ham radio operator, sought a building <br />permit to erect an amateur radio tower on his private residence <br />property. The structure proposed to be erected is described in <br />the findings of fact as: <br />,(A] 72-foot tower supporting a mechanical device of a <br />radio antenna consisting of one boom three inches in <br />diameter, 33 feet long and having mounted thereon six <br />cross tubes two and wte-]ialf ii�clies in diameter. <br />The City of Everett build:ng inspector granted petitioner the permit <br />requested. Subsequently, four objecting property owners appealed <br />L•a the IIoard of Adjustment.
