The pollutants of concem are oil and gas, and <br /> other fluid emissions from vehides, and the use o(pesticides and herbicides for landscape <br /> maintenance. This section will also address the construction praclices dealing with pollutants <br /> � other than sediments, and spill conlrol measures. Af the end of this sedion are a compieted <br /> � Construction Site Activities Checklist, a Land Use Activities Checklist, and lhe Department of <br /> Ecology rerommendations regarding specific BMPs listed herein. <br /> � 6.1 Permamsnt Source Control <br /> I <br /> 1. Warning signs (e.g., "Dump No Waste— Drains to Puget Sound") shall be stenciled or <br /> istamped on or adjacent to all storm drain inlets. Signs shall be repainled as needed. <br /> 2. Parking lots and drive aisles should be swept periodically. Special care should be taken not <br /> i to fiush water from the pavement surfaces into the storm drain system. <br /> I <br /> 3. The use of fertilizers and herbicides shall follow the a[tached checklists. (See Section 10.0, <br /> I Maintenance and Operation Requirements.) <br /> 9. The use of pesticides shall follow the"Integrated Pest Management Plan,"altached. (See <br /> Sedion 10.0, Maintenance and Operation Requirements.) <br /> � 6.2 Construction Source Control <br /> CONTROL OP POLLUTANTS OTHER THAN SEDIMENTS <br /> Good Housekeeping <br /> I Operation and maintenance activities and storage and disposal praclices at the construction site <br /> �vill be conducled lo minimize the pofential for contamination of stormwater runoff. <br /> ' Good housekeeping practices shall be maintained by the Contractor(s). Major equipment <br /> � maintenance wiil be performed at a properly permilted location remote from the project sife. <br /> The project site can be used for daily maintenance activities, such as periodic oil changes, to <br /> I ensure proper operation of the equipment and to ensure that lhe equipment is environmentally <br /> sa(e. Heavy equipment that cannoC leave the project site wilhout being hauled on a treiler or <br /> truck can be worked on at the project site, provided that the work is performed in a designated <br /> area oF Contractor's slaging area and thaf environmentally safe procedures am adhered to. <br /> I Wasfe oil and contaminaled debris vaill be removed from the site and disposed of in accordance <br /> with applicable regulations. <br /> There shall be no visible sheen from petroleum products allowed fn waters of the state or <br /> stormwater runoff as a result of project activilies. <br /> � All of the materials used in construction, as well as bo[h mobile and stationary equipment, will be <br /> ' ` considered as po[ential tivaste generation materials.
