The work had been
completed with no inspections called for.
Altho it appears to be ok with the exception of proper ventilation
and no electrical has been installed.
A new entrance door was installed, and a trench dug out from the
front sidewalk sloped to the new door to the office.
On October 15, 1973 a letter was sent to Dr. Ridler by John Farrens
notifying the Doctor a final inspection would be required before
occupying, or the building would be posted "Unlawful to Occupy" .
Copy of letter is on file.
On February 12 , 1974, Dr. Ridler acquired an additional building permit
for exterior work, which was a change in the exterior entrance stairs
to the office.
April 25, 1974, Butch Dougherty and I made an appointment to meet
with Dr. Ridler for an inspection of the premises.
t4e found that no further work has been done and Bitch Dougherty
notified the Doctor of the required electrical that would have to be
completed to approve Occupancv. Copy of this inspection reporT
on file.
Dr. Ridler would also be required to have lavatory facilities which
he does not have.
This occupancy would be classified as a Clinic rather than just an
office as the buildinq permit was taken out for. Dr. Ridler would
also be required to have off street parkinq as required by the
Zoning Code.
In checking with the City Licensing Department we were told that
Dr. Ridler does not have a current City License and has not paid
his tax for last year.
The Doctor claims lack of funds has prevented him from complying
and would not give us any definite date of compliance. Altho , ;;,.;, ,,};aq (
there is no sign on the premises disignating the same as a
Chiropractic Clinic the Doctor admitted to us that he has, what he
calls, old patients that stop by and he treats them. He has all
his equipment placed in the Clinic.
My recommendation is that the C2inic portion of the residence be
posted "Unlawful to Occupy" until Dr. Ridler has complied with
all City Code requirements.
