The environmental assessment described herein is intended to <br /> update a previous Phase 1 �SA completcd for tlie subject properly by Kleinfelder in Septcmbcr �, <br /> � 2000. <br /> � In addition, a Limitcd I'l�ase II Subsurface Soil Characteri�alion �y�as pcdonned in conjunction <br /> with a Geotechnical Inve�tigation on the subject properiy. The limiled Phase II soil sampling <br /> ���zs designed to augment previous soil smnpling results obtained b}' ADaPT Lnginecring in <br /> � August 1999, Kleinfelder in September Z000, an� Kane Environmental in NovemUcr 2000. .A <br /> brief swnmary of the previous investigations is presented Uelo�i�. The field <br /> p p p prograni consisled of <br /> f completing five exploratory soil borings (B-I through B-5) and t�vo ha��d augers (I-IB-1 and H13- <br /> � 2). ADaPT reporied tl�at a commercial.building containing a 12-foot deep basement was located <br /> I on the southem poriion of ilte site within the area of il�e proposed Safe��ay Fueling Center (Lots <br /> 12 through 16). K&H Printing Company occupied the building. 1'he locations of K�CH Printing <br /> Compa�p� building (also l:no��n as the n�fanufacturing Building) and ADaPT's esploratory soil <br /> Iborings and hand augers aze sl�own on Figure 3. <br /> � Soil borings B-1, B-3 and B-5 and hand avger HI3-1 «�ere completed in il�c azea of the proposed <br /> Safeway Fueling Center (Pigtue 3). No evidencc of contaminated soils was reported during die <br /> � subsurface drillings.
