October 19, 1999 <br /> Re: Bartell Drugs Building Permit Application <br /> Plan Check No. B9910-022, SEPA N99-033 <br /> Dear : <br /> I've reviewed the plans submitted for Bartell Drugs and have the following comments: <br /> 1. L,andscaping along the street frontages of the parking lot must include a berm or a <br /> raised plantcr bed, the center of which shall be a minimum of 20 inches in height above <br /> the adjacent parking lot surface. This must be shown on the landscape plan. <br /> The trees proposed do not meet Type II lands�aping requirements. Type II landscaping <br /> requiies a mix of evergreen and deciduous trees, with no more than 30% being <br /> deciduous, planted at intervals no greater than 20 feet on center. <br /> The tree planting in the parking strip between the sidewalk a�d curb is required in <br /> addition to landscaping of ihe 10 foot wide Type II landscape strip. <br /> 2. Trees along the north property line adjacent to the drive-through do not meet Type III <br /> landscape requirements. Type III landscaping requires that trees be spaced at intervals <br /> no greater than 30 feet on center. <br /> 3. The Planting Notes state that asphalt overhang into planting areas shall be 6" or less. <br /> Asphalt overhang is not permitted at all in required landscape areas. That note must be <br /> revised. <br />
