A hearing was held on the application of Peter Salamonsen, <br /> 19402 - 68tn West, Lynnwood, WA, for a variance f^om Sectiom <br /> 19 .40.020 , E.M.C. (Everett Municipal Code) , Off-St.reet Parkiag, <br /> for permission to reduce the required parking to six (6) parking <br /> stalls for a six (6) unit apartment house rather than the code <br /> requirement of nine (9} parking spaces. <br /> I,EGAL DESCRIPTION: Lots 58 and 59 , Smyth Land Co, 2nd Add. to <br /> Everett <br /> ADDRESS: 3922 Rucker <br /> ZONING: R-4 Multiple Family High Density Residence <br /> Mr. Salamonsen represented himself and made the following <br /> statements: <br /> 1. The proposed building lot i.s zoned for eight (8) units <br /> and he wishes sir. (6) units with slightly reduccd <br /> parY.ing. <br /> 3. if the City parkinq requirements are adhered to, it <br /> will reduce the beauty of the lot. There are to;o large <br /> Evergreen trees that he does not want to destroy and <br /> they would have to be removed if additional parking is <br /> to be provided. <br /> There �vas some opposition to Mr. Salamonsen's reqt�.est. One of <br /> the neighbora , Mrs. Dotson, who lives at 3932 Ruc'r.er, stated <br /> the following: (1) Additional traffic that a sir. (6) nlex i;ould <br /> create could be hazardous; (2) also, there is little roont for. <br /> parY.ing. now; (3) the City ordinance should be adl�ered to; and <br /> (4) consideration should be given to the neighboring residence. <br /> Also, Mr. Rick Cooper, of the Everett Clinic, felt t.he parl:iny <br /> ordinance should not be violat-ed in that area becc,ese of e;:isti.ng <br /> off-street parking pressures. <br /> A neighbor, Mrs. Rodgers , located at 3920 RucY.er also �ias agninst <br /> additional parY.ing in or off the alley. <br /> There was no further comment from the audience. <br /> After visual observation and considcr�i.g all the facts and testi-mon}�, <br /> • . it was moved Uy Mr. I:ristiansen, seconded by Mr. Russell, and <br /> unanimously carried to postpoiie the applicant's r.equest for thi.rty <br /> (30] days so ihat additionzl information may be provided, and to <br /> give D7r.
