That families of deceased persons may be more comfortable <br /> with crematorium servicea available at the funerel home where <br /> � they have brought their loved onee. <br /> 4�?llGldl,� <br /> �. Everqre�n Funeral Home submftted a request for the construction <br /> •�f a crematorium on their exiating funer.nl home and cemetery <br /> site. Pursuant to the provisions of EMC 19.58.O10.C. 2 , a Special <br /> Property Uee Permit is requirad for tha proposal. <br /> 2. The appeal ia an appeal of th� Hearing Examiner'a decision which <br /> denied the Speoial Property Use Permit. The Heering Examiner <br /> concluded that tha Applicant could seet the critesia of <br /> compatibility and e!nvironmental impact, bit did not show that the <br /> use would meet the public need criterin. <br /> 3 . At the public hearinq on June 28, l988 , the City Council found <br /> that the crematorium will serve the pub: ' c convenience and <br /> necessity. <br /> DBCISION <br /> The City Council reverses the Hearing Examiner's Conclusion N6 , <br /> reverses the Hearing Examiner's decision, and directs spproval of SPU <br /> �2-88 subject to the conditions recommended by the Planning <br /> Department, Which are as follows: <br /> 1 .
