We have also checked the structural calculalions to
determine if !he capaciry of ay roof inembers would be exceeded.
Review of the mechanical unit data indicates that the weight of the heaviest unit combined with its
economizer dces not exceed 600 pounds. This unit sFwuld be located so that its center of ;+ravity is
directty over the 3-1/2" x 22" PSL spanning 32 feet. The curb should be installed so that it extends to the
adjacent joist on each side of the parallam. If properly installed, none of the loaded members will be over
stressed.
Of the additional units, none exceeds 400 pounds including the extemal dampers. Our calculations
indicate that if the weight of each unit is evenly distributed between at least two adjacent rooF trusses,
neither truss will be overstressed. We also recommend that curbs running across the trusses be located
as closely as possible to the panel points where web members intersect with the top chord.
Please nole that it is extremely important that the weight of eaah unit be distributcd as evenly as poosible
over at least two adjacent joists.
Should you have any questions or desire additional information, please do nol hesitate to contact us. We
lrust this fulfills your request for verification of inechanical unit design loads, and in that regard, it is
Respectiully Submitted,

Claylon M

.
