( <br />6E0T[CHNICAL ENGINEERING REPORT-SUPPLEMENT <br />SOILS INVESTIGATION FOR <br />3019 Burl Place, Everett WA <br />September 25, 2009 <br />This letter supplements the Geotechnical report dated July 15, 2009 and written for 3019 Burl Place in <br />Everett, WA, <br />The desfgn to correct the settlement of the house in questfon consists of several 2" steel pin piles placed <br />along the foundation of the house. The piles will be in.;erted using a jack hamm2r and drfven to depths <br />up to 20 feet. The nearest piles will be placed no closer !han 10 (eet fram the tap of the existing slope. <br />Based upon the soil boring log, the piles installed should not have an adverse effect on the property <br />structure, slope or the surrounding structures. The work will not create a hazard to rights-of•way or <br />cause erosion or sedimentatlon to off-site properties ar bodies of water. The work will however provide <br />a benefit to the property strudure and stabilize it from further settlement problems due to <br />uncompacted (ill soils underneath the house. Given the small piles and the lighter hammer needed to <br />drive said piles, the method o° construction should have no adverse effects on the slope.
