Please note that although the sprinkler contractor ma�� not be providing all of the work requested, <br />the following documentation is required on the permit plans to ottain a sprinkler permit. <br />A double-check detector valve assembly (DCDA) should be shown on the drawings [o replace the single <br />check detedor on the fire service of this building. <br />a. A field meeting held yesterday, May 14, 2014, indicated that a sinyle check serves this building. <br />b. New suppression work triggers the VJashington State Department of Health requirement to <br />upgrade to a double check. <br />c. Prior to work being done in the field, a building permit is required. <br />d. Please contact Mike Ward, Everett Public Works Maintenance and Operations Supervisor, 425- <br />257-8827, to finalize the location of the DCDA, either in a vault or interior to the building. <br />2. All replacements of a single check detector to a double chec�< deledor should be installed by a private <br />contractor, since the ciry oniy installs new services upon request. <br />The revised sprinkler submittal will require three copies of the following, so that the submittal can be <br />reviewed: <br />a. A catalog cut indicat�ng the DCDA manufacturer's model in the'BackFlow Prevention Assemblies <br />Approved for Installation in Washington State', published by the Washington State Department <br />of Health, current edition. <br />b. A pian and section of the intended location and inslallation of the DCDA. Mike Ward should be <br />contacted to determine if the DCDA should be located in a vault or an interior locafion, to <br />comply with City of Everett Standard Construction Drawings 515 or 523, attached. <br />r. The model number of thc DCDA should be shown on the drawings. <br />d. The routing of the fire servite from the city main ta the tenant space should be shown relative <br />to th� property line of the building, indud�ng the cross-connection. <br />e. ll�e riser room should be iaentified on the pl:,ns. <br />f. A post indicator valve (PIV) is required if there is not dired access to the riser room from <br />outs#de cf the building. <br />g. Ail plan :sheets a(fected by these revisions should be updated for three sets of permit plans. <br />h. Three s���:: of hydraulic calcu�aticrns for Flow affected by these revisions should be submitted. <br />
