V6B 2S2 ,
re: Everett Keg
.''iear Laura,
At our 20 ]uly 1989 progress meeting David Worley of Devcon, Inc.
had questions regardin`; the gypsum board ceiling and the building
departments requiremecrt for a 1 hour ceiling. I have researched the
issues and offer the [ollowing recommendations:
1. A single layer of S/$" ty{ro "X" gypsum board applied over
? resilient channels or two layers of 5/8" gypsum board applied
over the wood trusses will meet the stated requirement. Fire
blocking will be required for either alternative.
2. The raised portion af the existing ceiling in the Lounge will be
required to be lowered so that the C►nish surface is tlush with
the adjacent ceiling as indicated on the retlective ceiling plan.
This will rcquire a suspension system and nish ceiling of one
laycr of 5/8" type "X" gypsum drywall. I have included
information on a USG suspension system that would satisfy the
stateJ requirement. .
, . . .
RcxirecTURa , ' , .
_ ' ►6ANNINOl . , ,,,, . . . . . .. _. .
',• .. . ._ INT6R10 D[lION . . . . • .• ... •• ;. . .. . .
..y:..._.. '.::., . . .
- - moo ntrn eve He ' •x , . . I
.;.-•.. euevvewvaa . . , • . . . • . ,
. . ... . - rtn .. u - . .. „ . .
i
I
