~ C ODDS ENGINEERS, INC.
' _
C I V I L E N G I N E E R I N G S U H V F Y I N G P L A N N I N G
January li, 1990 / ,
DEI Project No. 89094 /
Mr. Gordon Witcher
City of Everett
Department of Public Worka
3200 Cedar Street
Everett, WA 98201
Subject: Casino Road Apartments
Dear Gordon:
I have enclosed the revised plans for the above-referenced project.
Moat of the reviaions were minor. Subseuent to our conversation
regarding the fack that Centron' s offsite utilitiea are not in place,
I relayed the options we discussed to C.P.C. Their decisiona are
summarized below for your information and concurrence:
HiLlf
As we understand it, the requirement for a looped water syatem ia for
purification reasons rather than for fire protection. As a result,
we understanc.i the buildinq permit for thia property may be isBlip.d
without the loopad system, provided that prior to receiving the cer-
tificate of occupancy a looped system must be in place and accepted
by the city.
In the event Centron is installing their utilities at the same time
as C.P.C. , C.P.C. will construct the water line from Casino Road to
the tee in Cherry Way and its on-site system. C.P.C. will install a
temporary plug at this tee and then build the remaining loop when
Centron has provided its stub. This will allow C.P.C. to continue
construction and give Centron every chance to install its utilities
so C.P.C. may connect as designed.
If C.P.C. ' s scheduling is such that they can not wait for Centron,
they would then prupose an alternative design. The design would show
an 8" line running northerly from the on-site fire hydrant to connect
to the 16" line in Casino Road. The two connectiona would be approxi-
mately 63' apart.
At this time it is rather difficult to predict Centron's timing. Be- i
cause the alternative is uncomplicated, easy to prepare, and will ob-
viously satisfy the city' s requir.ements, we propose to delay making
this deaign change until it becomes clear that it will be necessary.
4205 14BTi i ml N ! . .. n 1 C 'r_ili 7- BBLLE VUE.
