WNINOTON
Dear Mr. Baker: ••,°'
i apologize for the time elapsed between this reaponse and your letter
to me dated 5/7/80. I wanted to make sure I had collected interpreta-
tions of our recently enacted sewer connection charges ordinance from
both the City Attorney and the attorney who had drafted the oridnance.
I have attached a copy of the ordinance and wiah to refer you to Sec-
tion 5 of the ordinance which applies in this case since the Casino
Park project is a major project under SEPA deffnitions znd has not
previously had the connection charges for sewer interceptor capacity
improvementa addressed under SEPA since its original SEPA review pre-
dated our requirement for these charges under SEPA. Due to thF long
period of inactivity on the project, building permite were not received
prior to May 1. 1980 and the charge of $395 per unit indicated in Sec-
tion 5 appliea to thie project. Had the sewer connection charges been
addresaed under the previous SEPA review, the connection charge would
have been $643 per unit in this area.
I should also point out that this is a new connection charge in addition
to any bond charges, etc. for sewers which were being charged prior to
the passage of ordinance 66J-BO and separate from any water connection
charges or chargea assessed under the Casino Road Ordinance.
If you have any questlons, I can be reactied at 259-887.1.
Sincerely,
HUGH WARREN, P.E.
Director of Public h'orks
J" /0_ "' n
By:Claix H.
