The additional space provided an <br /> interior stair to allow access to both floors of the building; development of a telecommunications room that <br /> houses the major communication hub for parks; a sound studio for Everett TV that includes sound proofing <br /> and communication systems, space for computer support equipment and improvements to heating/ventilation <br /> equipment. The facility required extensive changes to meet the requirements of the Americans with <br /> Disabilities Act(ADA). The ADA improvements included the addition of a wheelchair lift,enlarging door <br /> openings to allow wheelchair access and constructing larger restroomrs with grab bars. The exterior of the <br /> building required replacement of the entire roof structure to eliminate leaks and replace insect damaged <br /> siding and structural members. The project also improved the energy efficiency of the structure by replacing <br /> windows and adding insulation. <br /> The improvements were completed at a cost of$974,908.
