OEING FUEL DOCK - TRENCH DRAIN JULY <br /> 294 <br /> to the proper and timcly completion of the work. Do not proceed with the work until <br /> unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected in a manner acceptable to the Engineer. <br /> 3.2 INSTALLATION OF STORM SEWER PIPES: <br /> A. GeneraL• <br /> 1. Install sewer pipes in accotdance with govem�ng authorities having <br /> jurisdiction, except where more stringent requirements are indicated. <br /> 2, Inspect pipe before installation to detect any apparent defe�ts. Mark defective <br /> materials with white paint and promptly remove from the�site. <br /> 3, I.ay pipe beginning at the low point of a system, true to the gradcs and <br /> alignment indicated with unbtoken continuity of invert. <br /> 4. Storm Sewer pipelines shall be installed at the grades shown on the drawings. <br /> 5, Pipe base, pipe wne, and trench backfill material shall be i�utalled as <br /> specified in Section 02221, Trenching, Backfilling, and Compacting. <br /> 6. Provide and maintain ample means a�d devices to remove and dispose of <br /> water entering the ttench during the laying operation in accordance with <br /> Section 02221. <br /> B. Cleaning Pipe: <br /> 1. Clear the intcrior of pipe of dirt and other material as the work progresses. <br /> Maiutain a swab or drag in the line and pull past each joint as it is completed. <br /> 2, Plaa plugs in the ends of uncompleted pipelines at the end of the day or <br /> whenever work stops. <br /> 3. Flush with clean water betwcen manholes if required to remove collected <br /> debris. <br /> C. Joint Adapters: Make joints between new pipe and olher rypes of PiP� w�th Standard � <br /> manufactured adapters and fittings. Use concrete closure collara only where shown on <br /> the drawings, or as dirxted by the Engincer. Provide flexible joints in stortn and <br /> sanitary sewer pipe not mote than I.5 feet from manhole, inlet, and catch basin walls <br /> or as shown on the drawings. <br /> D. Connecting New and Ezisting Utilities: <br /> 1. Connections betwcen new and existing sewers shall be watertight. <br /> E. Interior [nspection: <br /> STORM SEWER SYSTEM 02724 - 3 <br />
