Box 3707
Seattle Washington 98124-2207
Re: Boeing Fisheries Mitigation Funds
Deaz Mr. Walsh:
Over the last rnuple of years the City has been wurkin with the Boeing Company and
Snohomish County to decide on an alternative fishenes enhancement pro'ect to the
originally proposed Powder Mill Gulch project. Last year, Snohomish Counryecided that
all but 568,000 would be used to fuud construction ot an interpredve center at McC'llum
Park. The remaining 568,000 would be used by the City for Ssheries mitigatton ,within
Everett city limits.
To clari[y our proposed use of the 568,000, the City would use these funds to finance or
partiallynance a project that would improve the water quality or fisheries habitat within a
watershed that discharges directly into Part Gardner Bay. 'I'is could be elimination of a
fish migration barriert restoration/enhancement of a wetland, restoration/enhancement of
a stream water qual►ty control pond channel or construction/enhancement of a water
quality control pond. If the proect is visible to the general public, a sign will be posted
identfying the Boeing Company as a financial supporter.
I hope this claries the City's intended use of the S68100. If you have any questions, feel
free to call me at 259-8800.
Sincerely,
Dan Mathias, P.E.
cc: Larry Crawford, Assitant Public Works Director
Jane Zimmerman
dm:kr21611r(3/2/9])
CITY OF EVEFETT•3200 Cedar Street • Everett,WA 98201•(206)259-8900•Fax (206)259-8882
