Instead of spending time searching through the WSEC and VIAQ Code,these forms will <br /> help organize and condense requirements that apply to your project. They are also excellent(ools f�or leaming <br /> the residendal WSEC requirements. <br /> Qualification pagea: There are 6 different QualificaHon pages, based upon fuel type (electric resistance or <br /> Iother),compliance approach (Prescriptive or Chapter 5 Calculations)and construcHon type¢ogs or other). <br /> The PrescripHve OpHons(Chapter 6) approach includes a Table of opNona,one of which yon will select for <br /> your particular design. Choose a compliance option that best suits the economics and design of your project. <br /> The Chapter 5 Qualification Form is a second compliance approach and allows a builder more flexibility for <br /> altemative methods of consWction and more window azea.The Chaptec 5 and Chapter 6 Window, Skylight <br /> and Door Schedules provide outlines to assist you through the apecific calculaHons and requirements for <br /> doors and glass. <br /> The Checkliet: Requiremenb are grouped under Foundation,Framing,Ineulation,and Final Phaees. Fach <br /> phase leb you know what, and when requiremenb will be checked by the inspector. You provide informaHon <br /> and check the circles that apply to your specific project. Because the form is intended to cover most deaign <br /> variations,many of the listed requiremPnts won't apply to a given project.Do not place marks in the two leh <br /> side shaded columns labeled "COMPLIANCE REQUIRED" and"INSPECTION APPF.OVED" or in the boxea <br /> located in shaded areas('These are for Department uee). <br /> Reeponsibility for information: Although designated Department ataff inembers will help you with general <br /> quesdons about completing this form,it is ultimately your responsibility to provide detailed informatlon <br /> about heating syatems,glazing,insuleHon and other requested building specifications.Since these forms will <br /> be evaluated for completeness and accuracy,you can avoid unnecessary permit delays by carefully providing <br /> all required informaHon. Disregard items that don't address your particular building or equipment. <br /> Deslgn Changea: Be sure to get prior approval from the Department if you wish to make changea in your <br /> project during construction. <br /> How the forme will be used: These forms will ultimately be used for aq WSEC field inspections. When they <br /> are returned with your permit,relevant boxes under the"COMPLIANCE REQUIRED" column will have been <br /> checked by the Building Department.
